What is a superseal AMP connector?
In order for lighting to work, electricity is needed. This electricity does not simply reach a lamp. There has to be a connection from vehicle to lamp. These connections can be made with connectors. Nowadays, there are many different types of connectors available. The deutsch connector is a commonly used connector within the automotive industry. Another connector is the superseal AMP connector. This connector has many advantages due to its high quality and reliability. It is completely waterproof and resistant to aggressive environmental conditions such as ozone, salt, petrol, diesel, brake fluid and engine oil. In addition, the connector can withstand temperatures from -40°C to +125°C. So the lighting will always work in any condition.
How to mount a superseal AMP connector?
Mounting an AMP connector is quite easy. The first step is to strip the cables. It is important that the cables are not stripped too long. 5mm is the right size in this case. A stripping tool is a handy tool to use for this. A rubber is used to seal the superseal AMP connector. Slide it over the wire. This ensures that no water can get to the back of the connector. Finally, slide the contacts into the connector housing until they click into place and then press the red lock mechanism. When you have connected the connector correctly, it will last for years. The superseal AMP connector will not let moisture in, so no oxidation will occur. No oxidation means a good conduction of current.
