what is a light beam?
Een lichtbundel is een strook licht dat wordt uitgestraald door een bron. In de context van voertuigverlichting is dit het licht dat door koplampen op de weg wordt geworpen om zichtbaarheid tijdens het rijden te verbeteren. Je hebt lampen die flood Beam hebben en lampen die spot Beam hebben, bij flood Beam zend de lamp een wide beam uit met een duidelijke scherpe rand dit zie je dan ook als het licht aanstaat op de weg. De naam “spot” Beam verklapt het al letterlijk “plek” het gaat hier om het licht dat duidelijk één bepaalde plek belicht, hier zie je dus geen scherpe rand op de weg.
What types of light beams are there?
The light pattern is crucial when choosing an LED lamp. An optical image is a light beam scattered by, for example, (an LED lamp). So there are three different types of beams.
- Wide light beam, this means that the light spreads over a large area.
- Focused (light) beam, this means that they are carefully concentrated on a specific point.
- The composite (light) beam consists of a composite light beam with different properties.
- There is also a fourth bundle: (Convergence) Convergence means that rays from different directions converge at a point. There is also a lamp with a focusing system. This is used to adjust the distance between the reflector and the LED.
So, you can decide whether to use a wide beam for close-ups or a narrow beam for long distances. Each of these three beams has its own unique characteristics, making a suitable lamp for every situation. Choosing the right beams has come a long way in finding the right lamp. Keep in mind that using focused and combined beams can blind you and your oncoming traffic. This is not the case with wide beam LED work lights from TRALERT®.
