What is reflective tape?
To stand out in the dark, various types of lamps are used to enhance the traffic safety of vehicles. To make a vehicle even more noticeable in the dark, reflectors have been developed. Reflectors do not emit light themselves but reflect the light they receive. This makes it appear as if it is regular LED lighting. In addition to the well-known triangular reflector, reflective tape has also been developed. As the name suggests, reflective tape is tape that reflects when it catches light. Reflective tape is often used in the truck and trailer industry. In fact, the use of the tape is mandatory on every truck weighing more than 7.5 tons (category N2 + N3 vehicles). The use of the tape is also compulsory on every trailer weighing more than 3.5 tons (category O3 + O4 trailers). The reason for this is that trucks and trailers are not easily visible in the dark and during bad weather conditions. By using reflective tape, they become more visible, preventing accidents. Traffic safety is thus improved.
