Why do we call round LED rear lights 'hamburger lamps'?

The short answer
In the world of lorries and trailers , round LED rear lights have become indispensable. You see them everywhere, and they are available in an ever-increasing number of configurations and designs. Think, for example, of round rear lights with dynamic indicator lights, without dynamic indicator lights, flush mounting or surface mounting, with a neon ring or arranged in a row. In short, round LED rear lights give your trailer or truck a distinctive look. There is now a widely used term for round LED rear lights: ‘hamburger lights’.
The hamburger lamp: a common name, but why? We explain it to you!
As shown in the image above, these round LED rear lights have two red sides with an amber coloured (orange) indicator in the centre. Because of this feature, these rear lights resemble a hamburger, which led to the tasty name that highlights the versatility of their round shape. Regarding the appearance of a hamburger lamp, we at TRALERT® recommend the unique VC-213 serie. Combining LED rear lights round
Hamburger LED rear lights, or round LED rear lights, are often used in combination. By connecting them correctly to your truck or trailer power supply, they can then light up in synchronisation. For a dynamic flashing effect on your ‘hamburger’ lights, you might consider using a TRALERT® dynamic flashing module. This special module enables you to achieve a dynamic flashing effect when installing multiple round trailer lights. Furthermore, the LED hamburger lights are fitted with internal components to prevent interference, such as electromagnetic compatibility (EMC suppression).
