In cooperation with Voestalpine and ProRail, a solution was developed to warn train drivers of approaching dangerous crossings. A warning system was realised for this purpose.

WARNING SIGNS
At TRALERT® we believe in the power of cooperation. This is why we partnered with Voestalpine AG, experts in steel technology, to develop a solution for unguarded level crossings. This joint project, commissioned by ProRail, led to the realisation of an advanced safety sign and system for railways.
The challenge of this project was to create a light signal that is clearly visible under all conditions, without blinding the operator, and with the lowest possible energy consumption. The result is a warning system in which TRALERT® developed warning lights with a dimming function and a unique light pattern, flush mounted in an intelligent warning sign and powered by a sealed battery. This keeps the system functioning properly in all weather conditions.
THE NEXT STEP:
SOLAR PANEL INTEGRATION
As a next step, the partners are exploring the integration of solar panels so that the warning system can operate fully autonomously and contribute even further to efficiency and sustainability. The joint focus remains on continuous improvement and increasing rail safety.
